  • Hence my title to this little review, 'Cheez-Its With Letters.' Apparently Scrabble, as in the board game, has some kind of arrangement getting their logo on the box. These nothing Scrabble-esque about these.
  • To Cheez-Its, Thank you for being delicious. Anytime I'm in the mood for a snack, you're my go-to. There are boxes of you standing in my cupboard and you can bet that whenever I go to the grocery store, you're the first item on my list.

Cheez-It is a cheese cracker manufactured by the Kellogg Company through its Sunshine Biscuits division. Approximately 26 by 26 millimetres (1.0 by 1.0 in), the square crackers are made with wheatflour, vegetable oil, cheese made with skim milk, salt, and spices.

Cheez-It crackers were introduced in 1921 by the Green & Green Company, a manufacturer of snack crackers based in Dayton, Ohio, and were marketed using the tagline 'A Baked Rarebit.'[1] Sunshine Biscuits acquired Green & Green in 1932. Sunshine Biscuits became a subsidiary of the Keebler Company in 1996. Keebler, in turn, was acquired by Kellogg in 2001.

Ingredients[edit]

It means that all Cheez-Its will cease to exist in the year 7054. Whether that is due to the eventual failure of the business after 5000+ successful years, or an alien invasion, we will not know until that day. But I think we may as well consider that an end-of-the-world prediction.

  • Enriched flour (wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamin mononitrate (vitamin B1), riboflavin (vitamin B2), folic acid)
  • vegetable oil (cottonseed, palm, sunflower and/or soybean oil with TBHQ for freshness)
  • skimmed milk cheese, aged cheddar cheese (skimmed milk, whey protein, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes, annatto extract color)
  • paprika oleoresin (for color)[2]

Once again, I tapped away at the keyboard, composing a letter to a company about how their product let me down.

If you have never been disappointed by a product, that is wonderful. However, if you have found yourself feeling like you wasted money, I hope you did something about it. If I choose to spend my money on something, I want it to be worth it. If I am disappointed, I want them to know it.

Here is my letter to Cheez-It:

Everyone knows that Cheez-Its are awesome. The flavor is great (every variety) and my entire family loves them. This box, however, must gave been overbaked as many of the crackers are burned (brown) and hard. Thanks for the quality control you practice and for such a great product.

Since I keep Cheez-Its in my stockpile, please send along any coupons you have. Aio runtime 32 bit. Thanks again.

How should you write your letter?

  1. Be polite, no matter how frustrated you are.
  2. Tell them about your loyalty and why you normally like their product.
  3. Be specific about the problem. This helps them research what happened so it does not happen again.
  4. Ask for coupons. Don’t assume they will just send you some.
  5. Include the information they request such as the UPC number, manufacturing plant stamp, store where you purchased the product, etc.
  6. Keep it brief. Your email will not be the only one they read today and you do not want it to take them all day to read it.

I have not heard back yet but I will let you know the response when I do.
